Heartland of America Park will close after Thanksgiving weekend to prepare for the next phase of riverfront construction.
The closure, originally scheduled for the beginning of 2020, will instead begin Monday, December 2 at 6:00 a.m. to provide additional days for construction before winter.
Most immediately, barriers and signage will close off access to parking lots and sidewalks within Heartland of America Park. Fences will go up and surround the park’s perimeter in the days to follow.
Heartland of America Park will remain closed until the renovation is complete in 2023, weather permitting.
Construction and project updates can be found at www.riverfrontrevitalization.com and the Mayor’s website at https://mayors- office.cityofomaha.org.
