The George N. Hicks House exhibits elements of the Colonial Revival Style of architecture that was popular after the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago. It was built by real estate broker and developer George Hicks who is credited with the development of the Hanscom Park neighborhood, one of Omahas early residential subdivisions which grew along the electric trolley lines during the 1890s.
