Omaha Public Library Reminiscent of the famous Boston Public Library designed by the nationally renowned firm of McKim, Mead and White, this building is perhaps the best of the early Second Renaissance Revival structures in Nebraska. Designed by prominent Omaha architect Thomas Kimball, the library is historically associated with Byron Reed, an important early Omahan who donated the site for the building, as well as his vast collection of books, manuscripts and coins. Completely renovated for use as law and other offices, the former public library is one of Omaha’s most impressive landmarks. (This building is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.)
