- Gallagher Building
- 1902-06 South 13th Street
- 1888
- Designated Omaha Landmark: May 10, 1994
The Gallagher Building is
significant as a fine representative of one of the earliest forms of multiple dwellings in
Omaha, the St. Louis flat. The St. Louis flat consists of commercial on the first floor
and apartments above. In Omaha these stores with flats are generally located along major
transportation routes, as is this structure on South 13th Street.
Constructed in 1888, the
Gallagher Building was rehabilitated in the early 1990s.
(This building is also
listed in the National Register of Historic Places.)
