The Finance Department is responsible for accounting and internal auditing; budget formulation and execution under the Mayor's supervision.

Finance is also responsible for the City purchasing and stores, collection of miscellaneous revenues and such other treasury management activities as are not assigned to:

• the City Treasurer
• the equipment pool
• real estate buying, selling, exchanging, leasing, and renting
• any centralized secretarial, duplicating, or clerical services
