Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EECS) Development

The City of Omaha's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EECS) describes the overall programmatic goals, objectives, and activities for efforts funded by the City's EECBG allocation.

On September 8, 2009, the City hired a Sustainability Coordinator to develop the EECS. The Sustainability Coordinator worked with managers in impacted departments to develop project summaries and outline a work plan for each activity proposed. On November 20, 2009, the City submitted the EECS to the Department of Energy for review and comment. Summary comments were received from the Department of Energy on February 9, 2010. The City received final approval of EECS in April 2010.
