Councilwoman Aimee Melton was elected to Omaha City Council District #7 in 2013. Melton and her husband, Scott, have three children, Jacob, Thomas and Jimmy. She grew up in Omaha attending St. Robert’s grade school and Marian High School. Melton received a Degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and attended Creighton University School of Law where she graduated with a Jurist Doctor in 2004.
Shortly after graduating from law school, Melton accepted a position as a Deputy Douglas County Attorney in the Domestic Violence Unit. Melton entered private practice in 2008 and became managing partner of Reagan, Melton & Delaney, LLP in 2010. Melton has litigated hundreds of trials and is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association, Omaha Bar Association and Sarpy County Bar Association.
The Melton family is actively involved in St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and School. In Melton’s free time, you will find her catching a few rounds of golf with her friends and family, including her six year old son, chairing golf events for charities, and attending extra-curricular events for her children, nieces and nephew.
Melton’s vision for Omaha is more efficiency, less regulation and the creation of new jobs and expansion of business throughout the entire city.
