Councilmember Stothert BiographyCouncilmember Stothert was elected to the Omaha City Council, District #5 in Southwest Omaha on May 9, 2009. Jean and her husband, Joe, have two children, Elizabeth and Andrew who both graduated from Millard public school system.  The family lives in Omaha and they are very fortunate for their success. Councilmember Stothert graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She has over 12 years experience as a critical care nurse and nursing manager and was the Department head of Cardiovascular Surgery at St Louis University. Of particular note, Jean has served the Millard Public Schools over the last 15 years that included PTO President of Sandoz Elementary, three-time elected Board of Education member (10 years) holding all office positions including President for three years, District Key Communicator, Bond Issue committee and the Millard District Strategic Planning committee member. Motto: Economic growth, public health and safety, improving our tax climate, controlling crime and improving delivery of city services.
