This group serves the City of Omaha and Personnel Department's needs for personnel record management. Specifically HRIS does the following:

  • maintains a number of internal databases and systems
  • processes and maintains hard-copy personnel records
  • updates/maintains the City's primary HR system
  • reports personnel information and responds to personnel inquiries.

The City's current HR and Payroll system is HCM 2.0 (formerly known as Masterpiece.NET (MNET)) which is an ERP product of SSA-Global whose parent company is INFOR. Our current projects include the migration to a true online job board and application system and the installation of the Benefits module for HCM.  The City chose the Projectix - Hiring Management System which is a product of First Advantage Hiring Management Systems for our new job board and online application system.  HDR Inc, headquartered in Omaha, uses Projectix for their online job board and application system.  Our decision to go ahead and implement the Benefits module for HCM was simple.  First Advantage is designing an interface in cooperation with SSA-Global and INFOR which will allow the Payroll, Benefits and Compensation and Employment Divisions better online coordination.

HCM 2.0 is based on our current system with some restructuring and updates. A few of the significant differences include:

  • a customizable web-based interface
  • more sophisticated security
  • one system and database for the three entities (Active City employees, City Pensioners, and DOT.Comm). a customizable web-based interface
  • more sophisticated security
  • one system and database for the three entities (Active City employees, City Pensioners, and DOT.Comm).
